Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Procurement Continuous Improvement and ESG Manager to join our Procurement department on a permanent basis. The role will be based at Thorpe Park, Warwick Park or our London office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
Develop and deliver the ESG strategy within procurement, embedding sustainability into all processes and supporting Scope 3 emissions reduction.
Promote responsible sourcing by engaging suppliers in ethical and sustainable practices.
Establish and track ESG performance metrics across procurement and supplier operations.
Integrate ESG criteria into supplier selection, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor management.
Partner with internal teams (legal, compliance, supply chain, finance) to align ESG policies with procurement practices.
Champion a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement throughout the procurement function.
Vendor Management
Evaluate vendor performance against agreed KPIs and lead improvement initiatives.
Identify and mitigate supplier risks, including financial and supply chain exposures.
Serve as the procurement lead for global vendor onboarding, managing internal processes and triage.
Ensure procurement activities meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Data & Reporting
Monitor procurement KPIs, analyse trends, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
Prepare and present procurement performance reports to senior leadership.
Process Improvement
Drive improvements in procurement workflows, systems, and supplier performance.
Lead supplier management programmes to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
Proven procurement experience is essential. We value real-world expertise and transferable skills gained through various career paths.
A degree in Business or a related field is helpful but not required — equivalent experience, self-directed learning, or alternative qualifications are equally valued.
Solid experience in ESG reporting, sustainability frameworks, and green procurement practices.
Strong knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, sustainability standards, and relevant regulations.
Procurement or ESG-related qualifications or certifications are desirable, but not a barrier if you bring relevant experience.
A creative and solution-focused mindset with the ability to think innovatively.
Excellent skills in data analysis and working with quantitative insights to drive decisions.
Strong project management abilities and a track record of improving processes.
Effective negotiator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Confident communicator, able to collaborate with diverse teams and present ideas clearly.
Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to an inclusive, team-oriented culture
