Job description

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Procurement Compliance Specialist to provide independent assurance across the organization. You will assist the Procurement Compliance Manager by maintaining data integrity and updating supplier certifications such as CoC, ISO certificates, and vendor assessments.

This is a permanent role based at our Howden, Yorkshire office, working 4 days a week onsite and 1 day from home.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide assurance on supplier onboarding, management, sustainability, timber compliance, responsible sourcing, and ethical trading risks.
  2. Support risk assessments of operational sites by monitoring and escalating supply chain risks.
  3. Drive continuous process improvements.
  4. Manage supplier onboarding and requalification in SAP Ariba SLP, including verification of bank details and insurance.
  5. Administer SEDEX and D&B platforms.
  6. Maintain the Vendor Table in SAP and the Raw Material Certified Supplier list.
  7. Monitor new suppliers and update SAP with CoC and SEDEX info.
  8. Obtain and upload FSC and PEFC certificates to relevant systems.
  9. Manage paperwork workflows in SAP and coordinate with warehouse, ISP, and buying teams to resolve issues.
Requirements:
  • Experience with key data systems, preferably SAP and Ariba.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Attention to detail, proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Enthusiastic learner with a positive attitude.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work efficiently.
