Job summary

Holman UK is seeking a Procurement Commercial Analyst to join our growing team in Birmingham, near the NEC. This permanent role offers a salary around £50,000, dependent on skills and experience.

You will build strong supplier relationships, analyse data, drive cost improvements, and provide reports to support procurement decisions. The ideal candidate has a data analytical background and solid experience with MS Office and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong working relationships with strategic suppliers (top 50% spend).
• Communicate with operations, customers, customer relations and suppliers to identify and remedy issues.
• Deep knowledge of supplier performance in a large network environment.
• Schedule and lead routine vendor performance review meetings.
• Maintain understanding of market conditions as they relate to suppliers and procurement.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to support procurement decisions.
• Scorecard development and maintenance; track vendor performance metrics with finance comparison.
• Conduct remote vendor performance discussions.
• Ensure agreement terms are managed and remind on expirations for renegotiation.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Procurement Commercial Analyst to join our growing team here at Holman UK. The role is based in our Birmingham office, near the NEC so please bear this in mind when applying. This is a permanent opportunity and we are looking to pay circa £50,000 depending on skills and experience.

We are looking for someone with a positive, confident, and approachable communication style, with the ability to adapt to accommodate internal stakeholders. You must have a strong work ethic and will need excellent questioning and listening skills with an ability to assimilate accurate information. The successful candidate will need a t hirst for process improvement and willing to challenge practices.

• Develop strong working relationships with strategic suppliers (at a minimum, covering the top 50% of spend in given procurement category).
• Communicate and work with operations, customers, customer relations and suppliers to identify, escalation and remedy poor performance or commercial improvement opportunities.
• Deep, day to day knowledge of overall supplier performance in a large network environment.
• Schedule and lead routine vendor performance review meetings.
• Maintain deep understanding of the external market conditions as they relate to strategic suppliers, i.e. mergers, tariffs, global commodity pricing, competing supplier strategies (e.g. FMC, manufacturers), etc.
• Analyse data and compile reports in support of procurement led performance management activity, contract negotiations, initiatives and opportunities.
• Scorecard Development and Maintenance - Coordinate tracking and reporting on vendor performance measures including VOR, Compliance, Administration and Commercial SLA's and other established contract compliance and performance metrics. Work with accounting, finance and other departments as needed to ensure that data integrity is properly maintained.
• Conduct remote vendor performance discussions with vendors according to established procedures.
• Ensure that agreement terms are managed, communicate approaching agreement expirations to procurement for re-negotiation, extension or cancellation.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree or formal data analytical education preferred.
• Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
• Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
• Able to use Excel to an intermediate level. Proven ability with the following Excel skills as a minimum: VLOOKUPs; PivotTable Able to use Power Query to an intermediate level. Proven ability to extract, transform and prepare data from multiple sources.
• Proven understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) principles and data quality management.
• Familiarity with Power BI for data modelling, reporting and dashboard creation.
