Job summary

Rolls‑Royce SMR Limited is seeking a Buyer to run sourcing activity, manage purchase orders and engage suppliers across siteworks, civils and operations. The role reports to the Procurement Manager and supports commercial strategies for a fast-growing, engineering-led programme.

The role requires procurement experience in large-scale projects, with strong negotiation and governance capabilities, and a hybrid working pattern in Warrington/ Manchester. Eligibility to work in the UK is assumed.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement within civils, siteworks or large-scale construction projects.
• Exposure to regulated or engineering-led sectors (energy, nuclear, infrastructure).
• Experience supporting siteworks delivery and operational procurement including logistics.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing and category activity across siteworks, civils and operations spend areas.
• Run end-to-end procurement activities including RFQs/RFPs, evaluations, negotiation preparation, contract placement and supplier onboarding.
• Develop supply base focusing on cost efficiency, delivery improvement and supplier optimisation.
• Collaborate with Programme Delivery, Engineering and Operations for early engagement and accurate requirements.
• Help implement category strategies to drive standardisation and value for money.
• Analyse data to support recommendations and decision-making.
• Maintain governance, compliance and documentation throughout procurement lifecycle.
• Contribute to process improvements and supplier performance management.
