Job summary

MGF Ltd is recruiting a Procurement Apprentice to join our Procurement Team at our Head Office in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. You will assist the Procurement Manager in developing buying strategies to manage costs and quality.

Core duties include raising purchase orders, maintaining supplier registers, and building supplier relationships while learning how the procurement system integrates with the accounts system. Training towards CIPS Level 3 will be provided.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Strong IT skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Willingness to learn and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing goods, materials or services meeting cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Preparing and raising purchase orders.
• Learning and developing the purchasing system.
• Understanding how purchasing flows into the accounts system.
• Maintaining the approved supplier register.
• Interfacing between purchasing, suppliers and other departments on processes.
• Preparing reports as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement.
