Job summary

Boeing Distribution Services III Limited is seeking a Procurement Agent – Commodity Buyer at the Burgess Hill site. You will oversee supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery, and financial performance, and support pricing negotiations and contract terms.

You will participate in tenders, analyze demand, and collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues and drive improvements across programs and commodities.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in purchasing or a logistics environment with emphasis on supplier management.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel to facilitate daily tasks and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase consumables for MRO and OEM usage within the aerospace industry.
  • Integrate program, customer, product, and in-service strategies into sourcing and contracting strategies.
  • Conduct tenders (RFQ/RFP) and bid comparisons for procurement of consumables in aviation.
  • Perform continuous review and analysis of demand and supply.
  • Prepare and execute proprietary information agreements.
  • Support sourcing strategies, negotiations and documenting contracts and agreements.
  • Communicate performance expectations and metrics to evaluate supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve payment issues and develop strategic solutions across programs and commodities.
  • Initiate supplier improvement activities and integrate results into contracting strategies.
  • Participate in supply chain process improvement teams to identify integration opportunities.

Procurement Agent - Commodity Buyer

Company: Boeing Distribution Services III Limited Boeing Global Services, Consumables & Expendables (C&E) Distribution Business is looking for a Procurement Agent – Commodity Buyer for the Burgess Hill, UK facility. The Procurement Agent will be an integral member of the Boeing Distribution Procurement team. Provides oversight and management of supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery and financial performance. Supports negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions. Interprets and enforces contract terms and conditions. Consults with external customers to resolve supplier performance issues. Participates in supply chain process improvement teams and identifies improvement opportunities for potential integration into supplier contract strategies.

Position Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
  • Three or more years of experience in purchasing or a logistics environment, with an emphasis on supplier management.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office package, particularly Excel, to facilitate daily tasks and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with common ERP systems (especially SAP).

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience with contract management and compliance, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
