Job summary

West Suffolk Council is seeking a Procurement Advisor to join its Governance and Procurement Service. You will support and advise services on purchases to operate and serve the council and communities, and work towards a recognised procurement qualification such as CIPS.

We welcome candidates developing procurement knowledge; progression paths are provided from Band 4 to Band 5 with support for qualification. Full-time, on-site role with excellent benefits and career development.

Qualifications

• Interest in procurement and delivering value for money outcomes.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement requirements is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support services on the purchase of goods, services and works to operate and serve the council.
• Provide clear, practical advice and guidance to stakeholders.
• Work to support planning, decision‑making and continuous improvement using data.
• Assist with governance and compliance in local government procurement.
