Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a highly organised Purchasing Administrator to join our electro-mechanical manufacturing business. This role supports production and customer delivery by sourcing materials, maintaining records, and building supplier relationships.

You will raise POs, monitor deliveries, maintain ERP/MRP data, negotiate with suppliers, assist inventory management, and work with production/engineering teams. This position offers training and development and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing Administrator or similar role.
• Background in manufacturing/electro-mechanical environment is advantageous.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with ability to build supplier relationships.
• ERP/MRP and Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders for components, materials and services.
• Monitor supplier delivery schedules and expedite orders as needed.
• Maintain purchasing, supplier and inventory data in the ERP/MRP system.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm lead times and negotiate delivery requirements.
• Support inventory management and help minimise stock shortages.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Stores and Planning teams to ensure material availability.
• Assist with supplier performance monitoring and cost-saving initiatives.
• Resolve invoice, pricing and delivery discrepancies.
• Produce purchasing reports and support continuous improvement activities.
