Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead factory trials for new products.
• Take concepts through scale‑up into production.

• Establish cooking and baking processes for new products.

Are you working within food manufacturing and looking for an opportunity to move further into NPD, process or product development? We are recruiting a Process Technologist for an established food manufacturer in Malton. This is a hands‑on role where you will take newly developed products from kitchen concept through factory trials and scale‑up, helping ensure they can be manufactured safely, consistently and commercially.

You don't necessarily need to already be working as a Process Technologist. Candidates from Technical, NPD or similar food manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered if you have the right knowledge and are keen to develop your experience.

What you'll be doing:

• Planning, organising and leading factory trials for new products
• Taking products from concept sign-off through scale‑up and into successful production
• Identifying manufacturing challenges and providing practical solutions during the development process
• Producing detailed trial reports and maintaining accurate product files
• Supporting product testing, including microbiological and chemical testing
• Establishing appropriate cooking and baking processes for new products and components
• Completing freeze and uptemper validations where required
• Supporting food safety, quality and product risk assessments
• Working closely with Technical, Development and Operations throughout the NPD process
• Organising and preparing product samples for customers
• Supporting pre-production and first production runs to ensure a smooth product launch
• Helping deliver continuous improvement projects, including complaint reduction and product quality improvements

What we're looking for:

• Experience within a food manufacturing environment
• Exposure to Technical, NPD, Process or a related food manufacturing function
• Good understanding of food safety and quality standards
• Food Safety Level 2 or above
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple trials and deadlines
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work across Technical, Development and Operations
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
