Job summary

D R Newitt & Associates are seeking a hands-on Process Technologist in the Newcastle area to lead the development, optimisation and validation of thermal processes, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance across our product range.

You will act as the link between NPD, Technical, and Manufacturing, translating kitchen recipes into scalable factory processes, driving improvements, planning trials, and compiling robust technical documentation for successful product launches with leading

Qualifications

• Background in thermal processes for food products.
• Experience validating thermal processes and collecting data.
• Knowledge of HACCP and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work on factory floors and run trials.

Job Title: Process Technologist

Salary: up to £45,000

The Role

We’re looking for a hands‑on Process Technologist with a passion for food safety, quality, and innovation. You’ll lead the development, optimisation, and validation of thermal processes (retort)—ensuring our products are safe, high-quality, and fully compliant.

As the key link between NPD, Technical, and Manufacturing, you’ll take kitchen recipes to the factory floor, drive process improvements, and support launches of exciting new products.

• Sharp problem‑solving and communication skills
• Comfortable working on factory floors and running trials
• Full driving licence
