Job summary

Nuffield Health in Wetherby is seeking a Process Technician (Bank) to support the Sterile Services hub. The role involves dismantling, sterilising and validating surgical instruments, with weekend shifts attracting enhanced pay. You will be joining a large healthcare charity dedicated to safe sterile processing and patient care.

Working on a flexible ad-hoc basis, you should be reliable, with basic education, good numeracy, and basic computer literacy. Training will be provided as you progress.

Qualifications

• Basic level of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills.
• Organised with good communication skills; ideally sterile services training.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments for theatre.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report faults.
• Maintain records and documentation in line with policies.
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Work with a supportive team and take on training as required.

Process Technician (Bank) Wetherby HSSU Hub | Sterile Services | Part time | Ad hoc

Salary £12.84 per hour. Working weekend we will pay 20% on top of your hourly wage Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm. Week day training would be advantageous for the role; when fully trained more hour may be available.

Key Responsibilities

• Dismantle and prepare and sterilise Medical Instruments ready for Theatre Surgery
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard
• Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults
• Work with a strong friendly team
• Take on training as required
• Be computer literate
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Take action to resolve any problems
• Escalate issues where necessary
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
• Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.

As a Process Technician at our Wetherby HSSU Hub, you'll bring a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. You're organised with good communication skills - and ideally, you're able to show evidence of sterile services training.
