Job summary

Codis, a global CDMO, is seeking a Process Technician for our Haverhill site to operate and monitor pharmaceutical production processes under GMP. You will follow SOPs, document results accurately, and support improvements across multiple production areas.

Role requires strong English communication, teamwork, and a proactive approach to training. Shifts run on a 24/5 cycle; own transport is helpful for site access and early start times.

Qualifications

  • GMP or production experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong written English and basic numeracy for manufacturing documentation.
  • Excellent teamwork, observational and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to learning, training and self-assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor and control pharmaceutical production processes in GMP-compliant manner.
  • Follow SOPs and established product processes with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately completing documentation in line with GMP requirements.
  • Be trained across multiple areas and perform diverse responsibilities.
  • Investigate process deviations and escalate or resolve concerns appropriately.
  • Report deviations to line management and maintain batch documentation.
  • Handle stock transactions and maintain spreadsheet databases.
  • Recommend SOP enhancements and support approved changes.
  • Adhere to SHE requirements and operate equipment safely.
  • Respond to standard and non-standard requests, collaborating with teams.
  • Work independently within defined procedures and communicate issues to seniors.
  • Contribute to team targets while following established processes.
  • Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment and maintain readiness.
  • Demonstrate willingness and flexibility to support production needs.

Job description

Codis is a global CDMO specializing in commercial-scale spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions (ASD), and particle engineering technologies.

We have temporary opportunities available to join our Production team as a Process Technician at our Haverhill manufacturing site.

As a Process Technician, you will play a vital role in the operation, monitoring and control of pharmaceutical production processes. Working in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), you will help ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

You will:

  • Perform standard and complex tasks in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and established product processes.
  • Monitoring processes and following procedures ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately completing documentation in line with GMP requirements.
  • Be trained across multiple areas and demonstrate adaptability in performing diverse responsibilities.
  • Utilise existing procedures to resolve both standard and non-standard issues, thoroughly investigates process deviations and appropriately escalates or resolves identified concerns.
  • Report process deviations to line management and maintain accurate batch documentation.
  • Conduct stock transactions with business systems and ensure spreadsheet databases are properly maintained.
  • Recommend enhancements to SOPs, initiate and follow through on change and support the implementation of approved modifications.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) requirements relevant to their function and how these impact assigned tasks.
  • Operate all necessary machinery and equipment within their designated area effectively and safely.
  • Acquire specific technical skills relevant to your function and responsibilities.
  • Respond to both standard and occasionally non-standard requests from team members and external departments, forming strong working relationships within the production function and support teams.
  • Work independently within well-defined procedures while receiving supervision where necessary; communicates relevant issues to senior team members as required.
  • Contribute to the achievement of team targets by executing both routine and complex technical tasks, adhering to established processes, and undertaking key assignments requiring advanced competence.
  • Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Working as part of the production team demonstrating willingness and flexibility.
Personal skills requirements

  • Strong standard of written English and basic numeracy for the purpose of accurately maintaining manufacturing documentation.
  • Excellent teamworking, observational and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to ongoing learning, training and self-assessment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to support changing business and production needs.
  • This role involves shift working, and applicants must be able to reliably travel to and from the Haverhill site. Please note that public transport options are limited.
Additional information

Shifts are on a 24/5 shift, early 6am to 2pm, late 2pm to 10pm, nights 10pm to 6am and it rotates weekly. Successful candidates need their own transport to get to site, and there is ample parking.
