Process Technician - Sterile Services

Location and Contract Details

Stoke HSSU Hub | Sterile Services Unit (ST5 7UF) | Bank Contract | Part Time

£12.33 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability, mainly weekends. Mid-week working can also be offered.

Please note this is not based at the Clayton Nuffield Hospital. Post code ST5 7UF.

About the Role

If you're enthusiastic, motivated, and have previous experience in a sterile services environment, this is an exciting opportunity to join the UK's largest Healthcare Charity. Your role involves ensuring the supply of sterile and disinfected medical devices that meet our customers' needs.

Candidate Requirements

You'll need a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. Good organisational and communication skills are essential, and sterile services training is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dismantle, prepare, and sterilise medical instruments for theatre surgery.
  • Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report faults.
  • Work collaboratively with a friendly team.
  • Participate in training as required.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Resolve problems proactively.
  • Escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation following policies and procedures.
  • Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality service.
