Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Process Technician - Electrician in the New Romney region. The role requires travel across multiple sites and a current full UK driving licence. It is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week).

You will maintain wastewater treatment works, sludge centres and pumping stations, ensuring environmental, quality and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement. Standby cover is required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification with certificates.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Install new plant and equipment as required.
• Respond to alarms and fault-find issues, fixing or escalating as needed.
• Carry out inspection and testing on electrical equipment following company procedures.
• Provide technical expertise to internal and external contractors.
• Update company systems and databases accurately and promptly.
• Participate in standby cover

Salary: Base pay ranges from £38,247.41 up to £45,896.13 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

About the role

Join our Wastewater Treatment Team to maintain and repair wastewater treatment works, sludge centres, and pumping stations. Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement.
