Müller UK & Ireland is seeking a Process Operative at its Minsterley site near Shrewsbury. You will operate the designated plant to meet daily production targets while upholding GMP standards and site safety.

The role includes 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, days and nights, with a permanent full-time contract. You will ensure smooth handovers between shifts, monitor quality, and participate in routine maintenance and documentation.

• Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to operate plant equipment.
• Experience in fast-moving production is desirable.
• Right first time output with minimal waste.
• Experience controlling material losses.
• GMP discipline and high safety standards.
• Knowledge of H&S statistics is advantageous.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Process Operative at our Minsterley site within the Muller Yogurts and Desserts business unit.

The purpose of this role is to operate and run the designated plant, achieve daily operations targets and maintain GMP standards within the process department.

Contract : Permanent, Full time contract

Location: Minsterley (Shrewsbury)

Shifts: 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, days and nights, 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am

Salary: £32,011per annum plus x1.5 overtime rate

As a Process Operative the key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering the daily production plan
• Operating plant/equipment and carrying out routine basic maintenance
• Achieving daily KPI targets
• Working with Key Operators to carry out start up procedures, ensuring good manufacturing, housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety standards throughout production
• Ensuring an effective hand over between shifts, remaining on line until relief takes over
• Monitoring product quality, highlighting non-conformance and taking appropriate corrective action
• Ensuring SIC and Quality information is accurate, complete and timely
• Completing all documentation, ensuring its up to date and available
• Training operators, ensuring competence to perform allocated jobs
• Leading by example encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of Company values and culture
• Complying with food safety requirements, effectively control CCPs and adhere to site quality procedures
• Maintaining Line/Area GMP standards looking to constantly improve
• Take reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others that may be affected by their acts or omissions
• To carry out any other duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
• Actively promote and comply with all Company Policies, Procedures and Values

Key skills & experience:

• A proven mechanical aptitude
• Previous machine experience from within a fast moving production environment is desirable
• Right first time (produces product to the required standard minimizing finished goods waste)
• Experience with controlling material losses
• Confident with adherence to Standards (GMP)
• Experience with H&S Statistics (e.g. Accidents and Near Misses)
• Confident with teamwork & collaboration
• A flexible approach; able to adapt to changing daily production plans
• A good listener/communicator
• Able to demonstrate initiative and prioritisation skills
