Job summary

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Process Operative at a manufacturing site in Erdington, Birmingham. This is a physical, hands-on role requiring reliability, hard work, and comfort with machinery and metal components.

You will load metal sheets, operate machinery, perform visual inspections, and uphold quality standards while following health and safety rules. Training provided, with two-shift patterns and a fixed night option.

We are currently recruiting Process Operatives for a well-established manufacturing site based in Erdington, supplying into a fast-paced industrial environment.

This is a physical, hands-on role and would suit candidates who are reliable, hardworking, and comfortable working with machinery and metal components.

Role Overview

As a Process Operative, you will be responsible for:

• Loading sheets of metal into production machinery (up to 11kg)
• Operating machinery following training
• Visual inspection of finished components
• Maintaining quality standards and attention to detail
• Working to health & safety procedures at all times
• Keeping work areas clean and organised

What We're Looking For

• Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive lifting
• Good eye for detail and quality inspection
• Able to work rotating shifts
• Reliable with good timekeeping and attendance
• Manufacturing or production experience preferred but not essential (full training provided)

Shift Patterns

Most vacancies are on a 2-shift rotation:

• 06:00 - 14:00
• 14:00 - 22:00
• 22:00 - 06:00 (Fixed)

Candidates must be flexible to work shifts as required.

Pay & Allowances

£12.71 per hour basic

37.5 hours per weekShift allowance paid per shift worked, with effective hourly rate shown:

• 06:00-14:00 +£6.00 per day = £13.51 per hour
• 14:00-22:00 +£12.00 per day = £14.31 per hour
• 22:00-06:00 +£24.00 per day = £15.91 per hour
