Join One of the UK’s Largest Food Manufacturers as a Process & Instrumentation Engineer - Field-Based!

Are you a driven individual with a passion for driving change and delivering engineering excellence? We are seeking a Process & Instrumentation Engineer - Field-Based to support our manufacturing sites across the UK. Our sites are complex, demanding, and some operate 24 hours a day, making a strong engineering team essential to ensure optimal machine performance.

Reporting to the Group Automation Manager, your responsibilities will include:

1. Implementing and optimizing automation solutions across multiple sites.
2. Driving installation, commissioning, and maintenance of field process equipment, including fault diagnosis.
3. Collaborating with site and central engineering teams to deliver innovative engineering changes aligned with sustainability and operational goals.

This role requires travel across the UK to visit our sites regularly. A full UK driving license and your own vehicle are necessary, with mileage reimbursed (home to office miles deducted). Interested in a virtual tour of one of our manufacturing sites? Click here.

About you

We are looking for someone who can work efficiently and possesses:

• Proven experience in implementing network and control systems.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel across multiple sites.
• Technical qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 / BTEC Engineering certificate or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of electrical systems, PLC/inverter assets, network systems, and integration.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices and systems.
• Ability to positively engage with engineering management for site infrastructure installations and maintenance.
