Job summary

BAT in Southampton offers an undergraduate engineering internship within the PEET team, focusing on developing and applying process capability for new category products.

The 12-month placement supports engineering students to gain hands-on experience, including mentoring, regular reviews, and exposure to cutting-edge research across multiple scientific disciplines, with start in September 2027.

Qualifications

• Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical, chemical, and/or process engineering or a closely related subject.
• Demonstrates willingness to gain lab/pilot plant experience and apply engineering principles to product development.
• Shows scientific and process curiosity with the ability to communicate with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage key stakeholders and how to work with them.
• Understand and execute core engineering processes in the team.
• Design experiments and conduct process trials to gather data.
• Analyze trial data and interpret results for technical review and decision making.
