Sr. EU PE Six Sigma Black Belt (Sr. Process Improvement Specialist)
Amazon is seeking Sr. EU PE Six Sigma Black Belt (Process Improvement Specialist) to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) Lean Team.
The Process Improvement Specialist III (PIS) works alongside with the FC Senior Leadership Team, while keeping high collaboration with both EU PE and other central functions. This role is responsible to drive high quality initiatives that embeds lean culture within operational teams aiming to seed meaningful lean knowledge and approaches in our fulfillment network. PIS invests effort in promoting impactful, quality work with deep-level PE involvement that moves the needle for our FC minimizing PE and Ops dilution across initiatives. PIS works to reduce complexity in key touch points with our partners through simpler reporting, removing overlap/inconsistencies in data sources & targets and continuously simplify via customer feedback.

This is a fully on-site role, requiring physical presence at one of our sites five days a week.
The role can be based in either Tilbury or Dartford.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver Lean trainings and support sites in the implementation of Lean methodology to enable Operations to apply it autonomously in everyday business (e.g., support in running high quality Kaizen, preparation of Value Stream Mapping to identify and solve wastes)
  • Lead high impact continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, Kaikaku, FMEA, etc.) including auditing of implemented actions to ensure that process improvements are sustained and benefits are realized
  • Mentor participants of Lean Six Sigma trainings and Kaizen leaders through their projects
  • Partner with Learning team on tailored Lean Learning Ecosystem structure and training material content
  • During event weeks you will be deployed to the site management operational team, based on the need of the building
  • Ability to travel as needed within your area of responsibility. Domestic and regional travel estimate average: 0-15% (subject to change based on business need).
About the team
EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfillment Network. This team is essential to establish best in class process performance across all different direct and indirect processes, accelerate implementation of technological advancements and to strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge for the operational leaders across the FC network.
EU PE ensures the operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to successfully deliver expected gains for technology advances and network wide process improvements. The team drives process control and shifting mean performance with the outcome of minimizing variation between shifts, building and region, to deliver strong performance. The team works closely with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence System - Operational Excellence) PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering and reliability and maintenance (RME) teams to improve the input metrics for each of the process paths by prioritizing and channeling resources.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics or a technical field
  • Relevant experience working in operations, supply chain, transportation, project management
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Strong professional experience with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen methodologies and change management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
