Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Process Engineering Design Lead to join the Water Engineering team. The role is flexible with UK travel, 37.5 hours per week, and offers a path to grow a high-performing team delivering water projects within an integrated design and build delivery model.

You will lead process engineering design, collaborate with construction to provide technical input, and shape a growth plan for our water capability. Strong leadership and Chartered status are required.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a relevant degree and be a Chartered engineer (CEng or IChem) with a professional body.
  • Strong network within the water sector with client and design organisations.
  • Proven track record leading process engineering design in clean and wastewater projects.
  • Experience in design and build environments and ability to grow high-performing teams.

Job Description

We're looking for a Process Engineering Design Lead to join our Water Engineering team based in flexible with UK travel.

Location: Flexible with UK travel
Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Design consists of over 750 professional consultants delivering fully integrated and construction-focused design services across the built environment. Due to significant growth in our water sector work, we're seeking a Process Engineering Design Lead to help deliver design excellence in water engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to grow a team and deliver outstanding water projects within a fully integrated design and build delivery model.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Process Engineering Design Lead, you'll be working within the Water Engineering team, supporting them in delivering design excellence across clean and wastewater projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading the delivery of process engineering designs, ensuring excellence and client satisfaction
  • Collaborating with construction teams to provide technical expertise on projects
  • Shaping and implementing a process engineering growth plan for our water capability
  • Participating in bid teams to bring value to clients and identify innovation opportunities
  • Liaising with water companies and coordinating with multi-disciplinary design capability leaders
What are we looking for?

This role of Process Engineering Design Lead is great for you if:

  • You have a strong network of relationships within the water sector with both client and design organisations
  • You have significant technical capability in both clean and wastewater projects, including water company and industry standards
  • You have experience working in a design and build environment with a passion for growing high-performing teams
  • You possess a degree in an appropriate discipline and are Chartered (CEng or IChem) with a relevant professional body
  • You bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and experience in optioneering, value engineering, and design reviews
