Job summary

Assystem in the United Kingdom is seeking a Process Engineer to contribute to the SMR project, designing complex thermal and fluid systems under stringent safety standards. You will analyze cooling water island systems, perform flow and thermal analyses with 1D CFD tools, and help size components while drafting design documentation and test specifications.

Hybrid work options apply, with 1-2 days remote per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in process or chemical engineering (or equivalent).
• Solid knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Experience producing design documentation and test specifications.
• Proficiency with PIPESIM and Flomaster (or similar 1D CFD tools).

Responsibilities

• Analyze & calculate cooling water island systems.
• Perform flow and thermal analyses using advanced software.
• Assist in system design and integration.
• Produce, review and update system documentation.
• Define control philosophies for system performance.
• Size components appropriately.
• Conduct thermal-hydraulic modeling.
• Formulate detailed equipment specifications.
