Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United Kingdom is seeking a Process Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer) to provide engineering support across manufacturing operations and drive reliability, efficiency, and quality improvements at the site.

You will work closely with production, maintenance, quality and project teams to deliver maintenance activities, process improvements and engineering projects that support safety, cost and delivery objectives in an office-based manufacturing role.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
  • Two-year technical qualification with a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and practical engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation practices.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day process and manufacturing engineering support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Support planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
  • Investigate process, equipment, and manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with the specification, installation, validation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, procedures, technical standards, and records.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, maintenance, and project teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyse manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Support capital projects, process optimisation initiatives, and operational improvement programmes.
