Job summary

A leading company in the Oil and Gas sector is seeking a Process Engineer to oversee process design activities for an Onshore Gas-Oil Separation Plant expansion project. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in large projects, particularly with Saudi Aramco, and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables while collaborating with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Process Engineer to work in their facilities located in Leatherhead .

  • Location: Leatherhead, UK (KBR)
  • Contract End: August 2026
  • Type of Projects: LNG

Scope of Work
The primary objective of this project is to expand an Onshore Gas-Oil Separation Plant and related processing facilities to allow for direct receipt and processing of the wild crude from the offshore platforms. As part of this project, the following new facilities will be required:
  • Three new HPPTs to receive the wild crude from offshore platforms.
  • Three new Desanding Hydrocyclone Packages in the formation water lines from HPPTs to remove the sand from the system.
  • One new Offshore Compressor, operating in parallel with four existing Offshore Compressors, to compress the gas separated in the HPPTs.
  • One new Glycol Dehydration unit, operating in parallel with three existing Glycol Dehydration units, to meet the dry gas export specifications.
  • One new Dew Point Control unit (DPCU), operating in parallel with three existing DPCUs, to meet the dry gas HC dewpoint specifications.
  • Replacing Gas/Gas Exchanger, Gas Chiller, Contractor Feed KO Drum and Dew Point Separator in existing DPCU units.
  • Three new Refrigeration Compression units comprising new Refrigerant Compression trains based on propane refrigerant to provide chilling duty to DPCUs. The existing Freon based three nos. Refrigeration units will be demolished.
  • One new Condensate Coalescer to meet the export Condensate water specification.
  • Four new Instrument Air Compressors and dryer package to provide instrument air to meet demand of existing facility and this project.
  • Two new Nitrogen Packages to meet nitrogen demand for existing facility specific requirements and for this project.
Job Purpose
The Process Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing the process design activities and ensuring delivery of the process design package(s) / engineering deliverables to meet the expected quality and standards. Shall coordinate various aspects of the process engineering including design, interdisciplinary support, planning, inspection and procurement.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Follow up on process engineering activities with contractor and resolving critical engineering issues affecting the engineering progress.
  • Review of critical project design documents and drawings such as design basis PFD and P&ID, produced by the contractor and the vendors.
  • Provide process technical expertise and support to all aspects of process engineering associated activities including multidisciplinary support.
  • Understand and ensure project compliance with project scope, company standards and specifications.
  • Ensure Project internal and external interfaces i.e. with Licensors, vendors and Contractors as required
  • Participate in HAZOP/LOPA/SIL and other safety related-studies and analysis.
  • Participate in 3D design and model reviews as required.
  • Ensure proper design reviews during 30%, 60% and 90%, meeting company requirements, standards and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with contractor to execute project scope.
  • Continuously seek improvements to the project costs and schedule at all times.
Requirements
Educational & Technical Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering discipline. Master’s degree is a plus
• Minimum 10 -15 years of relevant experience in large to mega projects with a minimum of 3 years Saudi Aramco experience
• Experience with process simulation tools such as HYSYS, PRO II, Flare System and other relevant Process design and safety tools.
• Experience in simulating steady and dynamic systems
• Experience with the development of H&MB, Heat integration, PFD/P&IDs/MSDs, LDT, as well as the design/specifications/selection of process equipment/instruments and hydraulics calculations.
• Experience in participating and contributing to Safety Assessment Reviews.
• Knowledge in HTRI/HTFS, Columns trays/packing design, Corrosion and Material selection, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modeling is a plus
• Familiarity with AOC’s standards and procedures preferred
• Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal
• Advanced computer skills with MS-Office
• Excellent communication skills
