Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Lead creation and training of product/process SOPs.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and efficiency.
  • Support Quality Engineering team in process-related issue reduction.
  • Lead New Product Introductions and manage change.
  • Report production metrics to meet targets.
  • Investigate NRFT KPIs and implement corrective actions to reduce non-conformance.
  • Act as the main process interface between Manufacturing, Technical, and Sales teams.
  • Ensure all process changes are captured, approved, and communicated through the management of change system.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.

About the Role:

Imperial Recruitment is working on behalf of Walker Filtration, part of the Atlas Copco Group and the Global Competence Centre for Compressed Air, Gas, and Vacuum Filtration. Walker Filtration is headquartered in the North of England, employs around 330 people worldwide, and has Customer Centres in the United States, Europe, and Japan.

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support all Production areas with process and quality, including goods in and despatch. This role reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager and works closely with Production Section Leaders and the QA Engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained across all production areas.
  • Lead creation, management, and training of all product and process SOPs.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and efficiency across production.
  • Support the Quality Engineering team in CCAs and process-related error reduction.
  • Lead New Product Introductions (NPI), including production preparation, jigs/fixtures validation, and project sign-off.
  • Record and report production metrics to meet business targets.
  • Investigate NRFT KPIs and implement corrective actions to reduce non-conformance.
  • Act as the main process interface between Manufacturing, Technical, and Sales teams.
  • Ensure all process changes are captured, approved, and communicated through the management of change system.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: 3–5 years in industrial manufacturing; experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, and SPC. ISO quality standards experience essential.
  • Education: Degree in a relevant field or HND/HNC equivalent. Six Sigma Green Belt highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, excellent communication, ability to motivate and influence teams, systematic and strategic approach, customer-focused.
