Job summary

RBW Consulting is seeking a Lead Process Engineer for a medical technology manufacturing scale-up in South Wales. The role focuses on establishing, validating and industrialising manufacturing processes to support product launch and sustained production growth, with remote work flexibility and regular travel to the site.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to build robust, repeatable systems, drive process validation, tech transfer and lifecycle activities, and own

Qualifications

  • Experience in process development and validation in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Background in process transfer, scale-up and lifecycle support.
  • Ability to lead hands-on manufacturing improvements and problem solving.

  • Lead manufacturing process setup, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support production transfer, process validation and manufacturing scale-up activities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing procedures, work instructions and best practices
  • Improve process capability, repeatability and production efficiency

Lead Process Engineer - Medical Technology Manufacturing Scale-Up
South Wales (remote, with frequent travel to their manufacturing location in South/West Wales)

An innovative medical technology company is entering an exciting new phase, transitioning from product development into manufacturing scale-up. With a groundbreaking product approaching commercialisation and production operations being expanded in South Wales, we are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in industrialising manufacturing and shaping the future of production.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business at a critical stage, taking ownership of process development, validation and production readiness while influencing how manufacturing evolves as the company scales.

The Role

As Lead Process Engineer, you will lead the establishment, optimisation and validation of manufacturing processes required to support product launch and ongoing production growth. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will help build robust, efficient and repeatable manufacturing systems capable of supporting commercial-scale production.

This role offers significant visibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting impact within an innovative and purpose-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You'll ideally bring experience from a regulated manufacturing environment such as Medical Devices/Technology.

  • Are comfortable operating within a growing, fast-paced business
  • Can balance immediate manufacturing priorities with longer-term operational improvements

Location & Flexibility
  • Home-based flexibility available
  • Significant on-site presence required during manufacturing setup activities in West Wales
  • Initial periods may involve intensive site-based support
  • Travel and accommodation expenses supported
