Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Process Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer) to provide engineering support across manufacturing operations, driving reliability, efficiency, and performance. You will work with production, maintenance, quality, and projects teams in a site-based, office-enabled manufacturing environment to deliver maintenance activities and process improvements.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, documentation, and collaboration to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery

Qualifications

  • Degree in Process/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related.
  • Two-year technical qualification with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and practical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day process and manufacturing engineering support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Support planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Investigate process, equipment, and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, maintenance, and project teams to meet objectives.
  • Analyse manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Support capital projects and process improvement programmes.

What You Will Do

As a Process Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer), you will provide engineering support across manufacturing operations, applying engineering principles and continuous improvement techniques to enhance equipment reliability, production efficiency, and operational performance. Working closely with production, maintenance, quality, and project teams, you will help deliver maintenance activities, process improvements, and engineering projects that support business objectives for safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This is an office-based manufacturing role where you will play a key part in driving operational excellence across the site.

How You Will Do It

  • Analyse manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Support capital projects, process optimisation initiatives, and operational improvement programmes.
What We Are Looking For
Required
  • Degree in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
  • Two-year technical qualification with a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and practical engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation practices.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Beneficial
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems, KPIs, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting equipment installations, upgrades, or capital projects.
