Job Description:

Role: Process Development Engineer

Location: Newport, Wales

Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay: Up to £47/h DOE (Outside IR35)

We are seeking a Process Development Engineer to lead the development of a new adhesive bonding process for battery pack assemblies. The role involves adhesive selection, equipment trials, and full process integration into manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
  • Define performance and adhesive requirements with engineering.
  • Identify, evaluate, and test adhesives in lab settings.
  • Specify and trial suitable dispensing equipment for production.
  • Develop and document the adhesive bonding process.
  • Integrate the process into manufacturing with appropriate tooling and controls.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and training materials.
  • Support risk mitigation through PFMEA and process validation activities.
Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in adhesive bonding process development.
  • Knowledge of adhesive types, surface prep, and application methods.
  • Experience with industrial dispensing equipment and process trials.
  • Ability to collaborate with design, quality, and production teams.
  • Understanding of PFMEA and process validation best practices.
