Job summary

Pure Talent Group is recruiting an Applications Engineer to size and specify cooling systems for industrial customers in Staffordshire. You’ll work with customers, sales colleagues and suppliers to understand process needs and prepare a full specification for the projects team.

You'll review briefs, perform sizing calculations, and explain options, with occasional site visits. A full UK driving licence is advantageous and a 37.5 hour week with an early Friday finish.

Qualifications

• Technical experience in process cooling, refrigeration, chilled-water systems or related field.
• Ability to assess cooling requirements using manufacturer tools.
• Good at explaining recommendations and managing multiple enquiries.
• Willingness to visit customer and supplier sites; UK driving licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

Staffordshire £35,000 £40,000 depending on experience + benefits 37.5 hours a week with an early Friday finish

Can you take a customer s cooling requirement and work out what equipment will actually do the job? Pure Talent Group is recruiting an Applications Engineer to size and specify cooling systems for industrial customers.

You ll get involved before an order is placed, working with customers, sales colleagues and suppliers to understand what the process needs, check what will work on site and put together a specification the projects team can deliver.

What you ll be doing

• Review customer briefs and clarify cooling loads, operating temperatures, flow rates and site constraints.
• Use engineering calculations, manufacturer selection software and performance data to size equipment and compare system options.
• Check equipment compatibility and performance with suppliers, taking cost and lead times into account.
• Explain technical options to customers and sales colleagues, flagging gaps or risks before the specification is agreed.
• Prepare equipment schedules, specifications and calculation records for the projects team, with occasional site visits to confirm requirements.

What you ll bring

• Technical experience in process cooling, refrigeration, chilled-water systems, temperature control or a closely related field.
• Confidence assessing cooling requirements and using manufacturers tools and data to select suitable equipment.
• The ability to spot missing information, explain your recommendations clearly and manage several enquiries at once.
• Willingness to visit customer and supplier sites when needed. A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
