Job summary

HM Prison and Probation Service in the United Kingdom seeks a capable leader to manage and lead staff within the operational area, ensuring delivery of high quality practice and adherence to national standards. The post holder will support other teams during absences where needed and promote equality and inclusion in all work.

You will interpret performance data to maximise team performance, manage resources and budgets in line with policies, and contribute to safeguarding and public protection

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and staff management experience.
• Ability to interpret and apply performance data to drive improvement.
• Experience with safeguarding and public protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective management and leadership to the team.
• Ensure delivery of good practice and performance improvement within policy and national standards.
• Deploy resources cost effectively and align with budget control.
• Ensure staff meet contract requirements with partner organisations.
• Access, interpret and apply performance data to maximise team performance.
• Manage staff development and address underperformance, attendance, health and safety, and diversity matters.
• Contribute to public protection through multi-agency arrangements and casework review.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Oversee safeguarding duties as part of role and responsibilities.
