The Ministry of Justice is recruiting Probation Services Officers for the Dudley and Sandwell Probation Delivery Unit. This role involves managing a caseload before and after sentence, assessing risk, and producing court reports.

Posts may be based in courts, prisons or probation delivery units and are suitable for part-time, job share or flexible working. VISOR vetting is required after offer; Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifikationen

• Evidence of relevant experience, assessed through application form questions.
• Clear and accurate reports to tight deadlines.
• Empathy, patience and resilience.
• Civil Service behaviours: communicating and influencing, developing self and others, making effective decisions.
• Verbal and written communication assessed at interview.

Aufgaben

• Manage a caseload of people on probation before and after sentence.
• Assess and manage the risk posed by people on probation.
• Produce reports and information for courts.
• Implement sentences and carry out offender management.
• Provide case management support using service procedures and practice directions.
• Work closely with agencies across the justice system.
• Support people on probation with practical advice on housing and employment.
