Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a dedicated Quality Development Officer for a fixed-term or detached duty role across the Thames Valley and South Central regions, including Aylesbury, Oxford, and Reading. This role focuses on quality development within the National Probation Service and offers hybrid working arrangements.

Applicants should have probation experience and relevant qualifications; sponsorship (Visa / Skilled Worker) is available for eligible foreign applicants.

Qualifications

• Evidence of undertaking high-quality probation work.
• Demonstrable experience collaborating to improve service quality.
• Experience working with diverse individuals and communities facing various social and personal difficulties.
• Proven ability to motivate and facilitate change in offending behaviour through engagement with individuals and groups.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting information and designing action plans to achieve specific goals.
• Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice, or a recognised equivalent qualification from England and Wales.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality assurance activities and coaching to colleagues.
• Conduct practice improvement workshops and audits of crucial work.
• Analyse findings from audits, inspections, and case reviews to inform local improvement plans.
• Work with local managers to develop and implement strategies based on evidence.
