Job summary

United Utilities, based in Blackburn, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Performance Engineer to own DTM alert logic and translate data into actionable operations. You will work within the Operational Intelligence team to reduce failures, improve alert quality and support predictive performance across networks and treatment works.

Qualifications

• Experience in wastewater treatment operations is essential.
• Strong problem-solving capability with confident use of IT systems.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Highly developed analytical skills to interpret and present data.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimise DTM alert logic to drive the right operational response.
• Establish governance frameworks ensuring alerts are consistent and reliable.
• Support development and embedding of Dynamic Treatment Management capabilities.
• Use data and insight to improve treatment performance and reduce risk across facilities.
• Translate alerts into practical, timely actions with maintenance teams.
• Contribute to a whole-system view linking network and treatment performance.
