Job summary

E-ACT Bourne End Academy is seeking a proactive Site Officer to ensure the school remains safe, secure and fully operational. You will oversee key site services including security, lighting, heating, and cleaning, reporting to the Estates Business Partner.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, safeguarding awareness, and a commitment to health and safety. 37 hours per week, 52 weeks, permanent contract with progression and pension options.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) or working towards
• Maintenance/trade qualification or willingness to work towards
• IOSH or recognised Health and Safety qualification
• Experience of caretaking and cleaning duties

Responsibilities

• Regular testing of fire alarms, emergency lights and firefighting equipment.
• Maintain security across academy premises and liaise with security services.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks (plumbing, joinery, painting, plastering, electrical).
• Promote a strong Health and Safety culture across site teams and academies.
• Monitor on-site contractors and ensure work meets required standards.
