Job summary

Park Avenue Recruitment is supporting a South West Local Authority in recruiting a Private Sector Housing Team Leader. The role oversees the HMO Licensing and Enforcement function and leads a team of Environmental Health / Housing Enforcement Officers while handling complex licensing and enforcement casework.

The position focuses on managing licensing applications, inspections, backlogs, and enforcement actions within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Local Authority Private Sector Housing experience.
• Extensive HMO licensing and enforcement knowledge.
• Good working knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS.
• Previous team leadership or management experience.
• Confidence dealing with complex enforcement cases.

Responsibilities

Private Sector Housing Team Leader

South West

£55-£60 per hour

6-month rolling contract

Park Avenue Recruitment are working with a Local Authority in the South West who are looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Team Leader to support their HMO Licensing and Enforcement function.

You will be leading a team of Environmental Health / Housing Enforcement Officers while remaining hands‑on with complex HMO licensing and enforcement casework.

The role will include :

• Leading the HMO Licensing and Enforcement team
• Managing Mandatory, Additional and Selective Licensing applications
• Overseeing HHSRS inspections and complex enforcement cases

We're looking for:
