Job summary

Park Avenue Recruitment is supporting a South West Local Authority in recruiting a Private Sector Housing Team Leader. The role oversees the HMO Licensing and Enforcement function and leads a team of Environmental Health / Housing Enforcement Officers while handling complex licensing and enforcement casework.

The position focuses on managing licensing applications, inspections, backlogs, and enforcement actions within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Local Authority Private Sector Housing experience.
• Extensive HMO licensing and enforcement knowledge.
• Good working knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS.
• Previous team leadership or management experience.
• Confidence dealing with complex enforcement cases.

Responsibilities

• Leading the HMO Licensing and Enforcement team.
• Managing Mandatory, Additional and Selective Licensing applications.
• Overseeing HHSRS inspections and complex enforcement cases.
• Supporting the reduction of licensing and inspection backlogs.
• Managing notices, civil penalties and prosecution work.
• Allocating workloads and supporting team performance.
