Job summary

Park Avenue Recruitment is recruiting a Private Sector Housing Officer on behalf of a Kent Local Authority. The role involves managing an independent caseload to improve private rented housing standards.

You will investigate complaints, conduct property inspections, and use Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS to determine necessary action. The contract is 6 months, paying £50-£55 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS.
• Experience inspecting properties and identifying hazards.
• Experience issuing housing enforcement notices.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.

Responsibilities

• Investigate Private Sector Housing complaints and service requests.
• Carry out property inspections and complete HHSRS assessments.
• Identify Category 1 and 2 hazards and determine action.
• Prepare and serve housing enforcement notices.
• Manage HMOs and potential unlicensed properties.
• Liaise with landlords, tenants and stakeholders.
• Progress cases from initial investigation through to resolution.
