Park Avenue Recruitment is assisting a Hampshire-based Local Authority in recruiting an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to tackle a growing workload of complex enforcement cases. The role involves varied caseloads including HHSRS inspections, disrepair and damp issues, and proactive engagement with landlords to secure improvements.

Qualifications

• Local Authority Private Sector Housing experience.
• Confident carrying out HHSRS inspections.
• Experience taking enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004.
• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of private sector housing enforcement cases.
• Undertake HHSRS inspections across the district.
• Investigate disrepair, excess cold, damp and mould, and overcrowding cases.
• Work with landlords and letting agents to secure improvements.
• Prepare and serve statutory notices where informal resolution isn't appropriate.
• Support wider projects aimed at improving private rented sector standards.
