Job summary

Eton College seeks a dedicated Chef to join a prestigious residential setting, delivering nutritious, balanced meals for 55+ teenage boys in a private residence. You will plan, prepare and present meals across breakfast, lunch and supper, working closely with the House and Central Catering teams to maintain high standards of safety, dietary compliance, and hospitality.

The role operates on a term-time schedule with holidays off and a maternity cover contract.

Qualifications

• Must be a reliable, flexible chef capable of independent work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with House and Central Catering teams.
• Strong understanding of food safety, allergens, and hygiene requirements.
• Experience in private households, boutique hotels, or high-volume catering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals, snacks, and events with nutritional balance.
• Meet dietary needs and allergies for residents.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety; manage stock to minimise waste.
• Collaborate with the house team and catering staff to support nutrition awareness.
• Provide hospitality for visitors, parents and VIP guests.
• Ensure breakfast, lunch, and supper are prepared and served on schedule.
• Attend training on safeguarding and food safety.
