Base pay range

A top-performing European private equity firm with €10 billion + in assets under management is seeking to add a high-calibre legal professional with strong investment experience to its growing London-based team. With a proven track record of investing in market-leading businesses across Europe, the firm adopts a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to value creation, working closely with portfolio companies to drive long-term performance and sustainable growth.

The Role:

This is a rare opportunity for a lawyer with strong private equity experience (4–8 years PQE) to transition into a dynamic buy-side role within one of Europe’s most respected private equity platforms. The role will involve working on all aspects of the investment lifecycle, from deal origination and execution to portfolio management and eventual exit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting deal teams on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of leveraged buyouts and other private equity transactions across a range of sectors and jurisdictions.
• Conducting legal due diligence and risk analysis in partnership with external counsel.
• Engaging directly with management teams, financial advisers, and co-investors to support commercial and strategic decision-making.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders (finance, compliance, portfolio operations) to oversee post-deal integration and ongoing governance matters.
• Helping to drive strategic initiatives and performance improvement plans across portfolio companies.

Candidate Profile:

• England & Wales qualified with 4–8 years of experience at a top-tier law firm or investment bank, with a strong focus on private equity M&A.
• Demonstrated experience advising sponsors or working on high-profile cross-border transactions.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and confident in high-pressure deal environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• A genuine interest in transitioning into a principal investment role within a collaborative, high-performing team.
