Job Description

About the role

Our independent Manager Research team is responsible for researching and selecting top-tier asset managers worldwide for our clients. The team also identifies emerging themes, monitors selected managers, and executes bespoke client projects.

The Private Markets research function within this team focuses on researching, selecting, and monitoring private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and real estate asset managers across diverse global, emerging, and regional strategies. We are seeking a team member for our Private Markets Manager Research team, responsible for:

• Conducting detailed fund manager due diligence through qualitative and quantitative analysis, primarily focusing on private equity.
• Expanding our private equity research and strategy offerings for clients.
• Presenting fund manager recommendations to the Investment Strategy Committee, clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitoring fund managers’ performance against their objectives post-selection.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of Redington’s Manager Research process.
• Handling bespoke client requests such as manager selection exercises, market evaluations, deep dives, portfolio reviews, and recommendations.
• Supporting the development of junior team members as a senior team member.

Qualifications

This role is for you if you have:

• Experience in private equity fund manager research or private equity investment, either as an investor or investment manager.
• An analytical mindset capable of discerning managers’ true competitive edges beyond marketing spin.
• A proactive, self-starting approach with confidence to express views.
• Qualitative and quantitative evaluation skills.
• Strong process orientation and project management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Experience working directly with clients.
• At least 8 years of investment experience.

Additional desirable skills include:

• Experience with institutional asset owners.
• Knowledge of ESG and climate-focused investing.
• Familiarity with industry tools such as Preqin, Bloomberg, and Pitchbook.
• Impact research or impact investing experience.
• Strong analytical skills using Excel.
