Job summary

Apex Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Private Equity accounting leader in Jersey. You will oversee end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of private equity funds, acting as a key relationship and escalation point for clients, managers and auditors.

You will lead a team of accountants, review quarterly and semi-annual accounts, manage audit processes, and liaise with fund managers. Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA) preferred; strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of private equity fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience managing complex fund structures and client relationships.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience liaising with auditors and managing audit engagements.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Act as one of the key relationship and escalation point people in accounting matters on allocated client portfolio, managing expectations and delivering high levels of client service;
• Lead a team responsible for the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of private equity funds;
• Review more BAU quarterly and semi-annual management and statutory accounts (including but not limited to NAV and NAV per share calculations, capital calls and distributions, waterfall calculations);
• Manage the audit process, maintenance of audit files and communication/liaison with auditors for portfolio clients;
• Liaise and act as the day to day contact with the fund managers and other external parties on portfolio of clients;
• Attend board meetings and present financial information;
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants, including setting objectives and their periodic appraisals.
