Job summary

Clayton Legal in Cambourne is seeking an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join our Private Client team as a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 6+ years PQE. You will manage wills, probate and trusts work, mentor colleagues and support the Head of Department, with a view to Deputy Head of Department responsibilities.

The role offers hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 days from home), a competitive salary plus a generous £20,000 bonus, flexible hours, 25 days leave and ongoing training in

Are you an experienced Private Client Lawyer looking for the next step in your career? We are seeking a talented and ambitious Solicitor or Legal Executive with 6+ years' PQE to join our highly regarded Private Client team, with the opportunity to take on a Deputy Head of Department role.

This is an exciting position for a senior practitioner who enjoys managing complex work, mentoring colleagues, and acting as a trusted point of contact within a thriving department. You will provide support and leadership when the Head of Department is unavailable, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their management and leadership experience within a supportive environment.

The team is collaborative, knowledgeable and well supported, allowing lawyers to focus on delivering exceptional client service and high-quality legal advice.

You will manage your own caseload of wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning and related private client matters. Whilst caseloads are carefully managed and not excessive, the work is often complex and intellectually rewarding.

You will have the support of a dedicated administrative team and will work closely with colleagues across both our Hampshire and West Sussex offices.
