We provideAudit, Tax, and Advisory services to a broad range of clients, particularly ininsurance, asset management, and international business.

The FamilyOffice and Private Client (“FOPC”) tax team is specifically looking to recruita Private Client Tax Manager or Senior Manager who will, ideally, be situatedin Guernsey to support the rapid growth of our private client offering. Thesuccessful candidate will be a key member of the team and will be heavilyinvolved with the growth of our private client practice and maintainingrelationships with our valued clients.

The role: Private Client Tax Manager/Senior Manager

You willreport directly to the Head of Family Office and Private Client, with veryclose interaction with other parts of the wider Tax department. You will beresponsible for maintaining a portfolio of private clients including high networth and ultra-high net worth individuals, and the structures they use tomanage their wealth. The focus of this role will be a split between providingtax reporting and compliance services and delivering regular advice to clientswithin the portfolio. It also includes external-facing responsibilities, withscope to be involved in business development and networking.

Role and Responsibilities:

Primarily,the successful candidate’s duties will include the following:

  • Regularlyreviewing written tax advice in the form of memos, letters, reports, and emailcorrespondence.
  • Managinga diverse portfolio of individual clients and having oversight of the taxreporting cycle for those clients. The successful candidate would manage boththe Guernsey and UK tax affairs of our personal clients.
  • Developingstrong and trusted relationships within the Guernsey fiduciary and privateclient market including attending business events and hosting training sessionsfor private client focused topics.
  • Preparingproposal and tender documents for new client relationships and new engagements.
  • Identifyingand supporting business development opportunities, with guidance to help buildconfidence and develop skills in external networking and client engagement.
  • Managingengagement-specific finances including oversight of your own work in progress,billing, cash collection and job budgeting.
  • Buildingstrong internal relationships with leadership and management in our otherservice lines such as international, corporate and AEOI, and also with ourbusiness services teams.
  • Actingas a central point of contact for communication with the client, able toprovide expert advice on the tax implications arising from their affairs.
  • Activelykeeping up to date with changes in local and international tax matters andassisting with the production of news bulletins for clients.
  • Mentoringand coaching junior members of the team, including providing feedback andrelevant training.
Requirements:
  • Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients andinternal stakeholders.
  • Astrong sense of initiative and proven ability to manage large and variedprojects with resilience, especially under pressure.
  • Previousexperience in a practice accounting environment and familiarity with clientonboarding and risk management procedures.
  • QualifiedACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ATT or equivalent.
  • Acompetent knowledge of Guernsey and UK personal tax issues including income,capital gains, inheritance, and other taxes.
