Job summary

Clark Wood – Tax Recruitment in St Albans seeks a Private Client Tax Manager or Senior Manager to lead a portfolio of high-net-worth clients. You will interact with Partners, manage complex advisory work, and contribute to the growth of the private client tax team.

The role focuses on advisory activity including IHT planning, CGT, residence, trusts, pension planning and client relations, with exposure to international considerations.

Qualifications

• CTA qualification with strong Private Client Tax experience gained in accountancy practice or similar.
• 2+ years of Private Client Tax experience for Manager level; 5+ years for Senior Manager level.
• Strong knowledge of Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
• Able to manage own portfolio, review work, develop junior staff and work with senior stakeholders.
• Experience with CCH is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of high-net-worth private clients.
• Review Self-Assessment tax returns and oversee annual compliance.
• Advise on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.
• Collaborate with Partners on complex Private Client advisory projects.
• Oversee IHT, residence, trusts, pension planning and business structures.
• Engage with internationally mobile clients and UK/non-UK trusts.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to business development.
• Support budgeting, billing and portfolio profitability.
• Lead and train junior team members and contribute to departmental leadership.
