Job summary

Carpenter Box, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking a highly motivated Manager for its Private Client Tax Team, based in Brighton with options to Crawley or Chichester. You will manage tax compliance and advisory work for private clients, supported by partners and directors.

CTA qualifications are preferred; ACA or ACCA are acceptable when coupled with relevant private client tax experience. This is a dynamic, client-facing role in a growing team.

Qualifications

• Proven private client tax experience with high-net-worth individuals.
• Experience in both advisory and compliance work.
• Strong knowledge of IHT, capital gains, trusts and estate planning.
• Excellent communication and client relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Lead private client tax advisory projects for key clients.
• Attend client meetings and prepare reports and technical analysis.
• Manage a portfolio of private client tax clients.
• Handle tax compliance including annual returns and related advice.
• Identify and resolve technical issues or escalate appropriately.
