The Role

Our Tax Consultancy service line operates as a national team and supports our clients from all our offices. As a result of continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Private Client Tax Manager, to be based at our Newcastle office.

The main elements of this role will include but not be limited to:

  1. Liaising with Armstrong Watson clients and the wider team to deliver Private Client Tax Advisory Services
  2. Undertaking new client meetings in relation to Tax Advisory opportunities
  3. Delivering proactive Tax planning advice for clients
  4. Managing various service line projects, including reviewing the work of other team members
  5. Monitoring work in progress, recoveries and billing
  6. Having formal line management responsibility of Tax Seniors and Trainees
  7. Dealing with ad hoc queries from the wider firm when required

The Candidate

In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:

  1. CTA qualified and have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Private Client based role
  2. Experience of leading advisory projects
  3. Knowledgeable and able to provide advice surrounding Agricultural Tax and Trust matters (Desirable)
  4. A Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  5. Experience of dealing directly with clients and ensuring they receive an outstanding level of service
  6. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) when dealing with clients and colleagues across the firm
  7. Great teamwork skills to be able to communicate with your own team as well as the other Armstrong Watson teams across all offices
