Job summary

BDO LLP in London is seeking an experienced Tax Associate Director to lead inheritance and trust work. You will provide tax planning, advisory and compliance services for UK and offshore trusts, estates and private charities, building trusted relationships with trustees and wealth advisers.

You will guide complex succession planning, review trust accounts, and contribute technical expertise on IHT matters while supervising juniors and collaborating with partners to expand client services.

Qualifications

• Proven specialist private client tax experience in a practice.
• Ability to lead projects with senior support.
• Up-to-date knowledge of taxation incl. trusts and IHT.
• Experience reviewing trust accounts and related tax.
• Experience advising trusts and estates with trustees and wealth teams.
• Staff management experience and ability to supervise.
• Degree level education; CTA and/or STEP qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tax planning, advisory and compliance for UK/offshore trusts, estates, and private charities.
• Lead complex succession planning including inheritance tax and wealth preservation.
• Review trust accounts and oversee related tax reporting.
• Provide technical expertise on trust, estate and inheritance tax issues.
• Build relationships with trustees, wealth advisers and senior client stakeholders.
• Supervise junior team members, lead projects, and support business development activities.
