QED Legal in Whitby/Driffield is seeking a Private Client Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE to join the team. The role focuses on Wills, LPAs, and broader private client work for an established East Yorkshire client base.

Salary is £35,000-£45,000 dependent on experience, with standard hours (9am-5pm) and hybrid working. The successful candidate will handle Wills and LPAs independently and build long-term client relationships.

Private Client Solicitor Wills, LPAs & Rural Client Base Whitby / Driffield

3+ years' PQE preferred £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience Full Time

There is a genuine reason for this vacancy.

An established Private Client team across Whitby and Driffield is dealing with a significant increase in workload and is looking to add an experienced Private Client Solicitor to the team.

The work is predominantly Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and wider Private Client matters, with a particularly interesting client base around the East Yorkshire and Yorkshire Coast communities.

In Driffield especially, the team has seen a noticeable increase in instructions following the closure of a long-established local practice, adding to an already busy Private Client caseload.

This is therefore not a role where you'll be expected to spend your time generating work from scratch. The work is already there.

You'll be dealing with established local clients, including families, individuals, farmers, landowners and higher-net-worth rural clients, particularly around Driffield, Whitby and the surrounding areas.

The role would suit someone who:

• Has 3+ years' PQE in Private Client
• Is confident handling Wills and LPAs independently
• Has experience across a broader Private Client caseload
• Enjoys building long-term relationships with clients
• Can provide practical, straightforward advice
• Wants to become a trusted adviser to an established local client base
• Is looking for a long-term role rather than another short-term move

Experience with agricultural or rural clients would be particularly useful, although it isn't essential.

And there is a genuine quality-of-life element to this one.

The firm is deliberately family-oriented and flexible, with a culture that recognises people have lives outside work. Standard hours are 9am-5pm, there is no expectation of working beyond those hours and hybrid working is well established across the business.

You'll also have strong administrative support around you, allowing you to focus on the legal work rather than getting bogged down in administration.

Salary: £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience.
