Job summary

Henderson Scott Limited in Southampton seeks an Associate Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Tax & Estate Planning team. You will manage a varied caseload across all aspects of tax and estate planning, including wills, trusts, LPAs and lifetime planning.

The ideal candidate is a qualified solicitor or legal executive with 3–5 PQE, strong drafting skills, and a good grasp of inheritance tax, CGT and trust law.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with ideally 3–5 PQE.
• Strong experience across tax, trusts and estate planning matters.
• Excellent technical drafting skills.
• Good understanding of inheritance tax, CGT and trust law.
• STEP qualified (or working towards) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and high-quality caseload across all aspects of Tax & Estate Planning.
• Drafting and updating wills and variations of wills.
• Preparation and registration of LPAs.
• Advising on inheritance tax and capital gains tax matters.
• Drafting trusts and trust documentation.

• Contribute to business development and networking activities.
• Play a key role in the growth of the department.

Associate Solicitor / Legal Executive - Tax & Estate Planning

Location: Southampton
Experience: 3-5 PQE
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Full Remuneration Package: £57,000-£70,000 DOE

A highly regarded and Legal 500-ranked firm is seeking an Associate Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its specialist Tax & Estate Planning team in Southampton.

The Role

You will manage a varied and high-quality caseload across all aspects of Tax & Estate Planning, including:

• Estate and trust administration
• Drafting and updating wills
• Variations of wills
• Preparation and registration of LPAs
• Advising on inheritance tax and capital gains tax matters
• Drafting trusts and trust documentation
• Succession and estate planning for private clients

You will also:

• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Contribute to business development and networking activities
• Play a key role in the continued growth of the department

About You

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with ideally 3-5 PQE
• Strong experience across tax, trusts and estate planning matters
• Excellent technical drafting skills
• Good understanding of inheritance tax, CGT and trust law
• STEP qualified (or working towards) preferred
• Commercially minded with strong client care skills
• Confident supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
