Job summary

Henderson Scott Limited is seeking a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Bournemouth team. You will manage a diversified caseload in wills, probate, LPAs, and trusts, delivering high-quality advice with a focus on long-term client relationships.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days at home) and an excellent remuneration package. Inheritance tax planning and Court of Protection matters are part of the caseload.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years' PQE in private client work.
• Experience handling a broad private client caseload.
• Strong client care and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive

A well-established and highly regarded Dorset law firm is seeking a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its growing Bournemouth team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected Private Client department with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality advice across the full spectrum of private client work. The successful candidate will inherit an existing caseload from day one, offering immediate exposure to quality work and long-term client relationships.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of Private Client law, including:

• Wills and estate planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Trust creation and administration
• Inheritance Tax planning
• Court of Protection matters
• Advising individuals, families and vulnerable clients on succession and wealth preservation

The team advises on both straightforward and more complex matters, including estates involving trusts, business interests, property portfolios and tax planning considerations.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
• Ideally between 2-8 years' PQE
• Experience handling a broad private client caseload
• Strong client care and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
• STEP qualification or progress towards STEP would be advantageous but is not essential
• Ambitious and keen to further develop within a respected private client practice
